European artist challenging with raku
10 kilns, simultaneously, 50 italian and foreign artists will meeting in Faenza, during Argillà Italia for EUraku Award 2014.
In Piazza del Popolo will be established 2 covered gazebos where the artists can paint their own pieces in front of the audience. In another equipped area there will be the 10 kilns for firing their works.
The kilns, making safe with open wires netting, will be the centre of the attraction. The audience should see the different practical actions as the firing and the spectacular steps for create a piece with Raku technique.
Saturday 6th September from 9 am to 8 pm the artists will painting and firing their pieces. Their activities will restart on Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm.
All the pieces will be displayed under the gazebos, the jury will proclaim the winners of the Argillà Award 2014. At 6pm there will be the award ceremony of the EUraku Award 2014.
The gazebos will be taken up by workshops open to children and adults, it could be possible to decorate and fire an own piece with the help of masters potters (paying a small contribution for the materials). In the second gazebo, in the morning, there will be the organizing secretariat, then there will be exhibition of the finished pieces.
On the occasion of Argillà there will be as guest the english artist David Roberts.
